Get Rich. It's Time To Choose the Bear

Yesterday, I commented on someone’s Threads post:
“I feel like we’re finally angry enough to do something about the way men treat us. I feel like we’re angry enough to be the bear.”
Almost 350 people liked that comment buried under somebody else’s post.
That told me something.
Women are DONE.
And this didn’t happen overnight
Harvey Weinstein helped ignite a reckoning that became #MeToo. Women started saying aloud what had been whispered in offices, hotel rooms, casting meetings and private conversations for generations.
Bill Cosby shattered something different. For millions of us who grew up with him in our living rooms, the allegations and court cases ripped apart the comforting fiction that the men we trusted publicly were necessarily safe privately.
Then came the Epstein Files.
The overturning of Roe v. Wade.
E. Jean Carroll.
Gisèle Pelicot.
And now... Cornell, where we have the newly nicknamed Cornell 7, like this poor girl was raped by a league of superheroes:
7 men for 7 hours.
At some point, anger becomes action.
I think we’re there.
It’s just that women’s action usually doesn’t look like men’s. Which is why we need a matriarchy, but that’s a whole other conversation. We will not arm ourselves and go out and each shoot someone we know harms women. That isn’t our revolution.
Women’s action looks like change.
And here is where this connects to everything I have been talking about around women and wealth: we are entering a period in which women are going to control an astonishing amount of money. American women controlled approximately $18 trillion in assets in 2023, and McKinsey & Company, one of the world’s largest and most influential business consulting firms, projects that number could reach $34 trillion by 2030.
We call this The Great Wealth Transfer, but that phrase makes it sound like an accounting exercise. It isn’t. For the first time in known history, it is a transfer of power.
Money determines what gets built, funded, researched, challenged, protected and changed. It supports businesses, healthcare, education, technology, philanthropy, political causes, legal action, media, environmental work and the ideas that shape culture.
The person controlling the capital gets a say in what happens next.
For most of history, women have had plenty to be furious about and nowhere near enough economic power to do much about it. That equation is changing fast. And no, women are not going to agree on what should happen next. Thank goodness. The point isn’t that we all make the same choices. The point is that we finally have the resources to make our own.
A woman with real wealth can back the founder solving a problem she cares about, finance research no one else will touch, support candidates and causes that reflect her values, build something new, walk away from institutions she refuses to tolerate, and put serious money behind the future she wants to see. And when someone decides that the largest women’s health prevention study ever conducted is expendable, she can make damn sure research on women’s bodies never has to beg for its survival again.
That is why I want women rich. Not merely comfortable, not “good with money,” and not sitting on a retirement account hoping it lasts long enough. I want us owning companies and equity, negotiating hard, investing intelligently, inheriting without apologizing, building generational wealth and understanding exactly what that wealth makes possible.
Because when something in the world horrifies you, I don’t want outrage to be the end of the story, because never before have women collectively been positioned to control capital on this scale.
Fund the alternative women are building.
Back the female founder.
Write the damn check.
Invest in the solution. Put your abundant resources behind the world you believe should exist.
We have spent generations asking, begging, for a seat at the table. The Great Wealth Transfer will mean we control the table.
What's the first thing you'd fund? Tell me, because I read every answer.
Then send this to a woman you know who's angry enough to be the bear. She's exactly who I'm gathering, the woman who's ready to get rich and put that power to work.
The revolution will not be televised. It will be funded by women.
